1. Background:

The Mozambique Transmission Company – MOTRACO – is a limited liability company incorporated in Republic of Mozambique in 1998. The companies are a joint venture of Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Eskom holding (Eskom) and Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC). MOTRACO was created as a vehicle for co-operation with the primary objective of building, owning, operating, maintaining the transmission system, and supplying electricity to the Mozal aluminium smelter in Mozambique and wheeling power to EEC and EDM.

Terms of Reference

2. Scope of work:

During rainy season experienced in Maputo, part of the soil around the foundations tower 323 on the Edwaleni-Maputo line, eroded exposing the tower’s stays and leg’s foundations integrity at risk. Considering that the community use the servitude for vehicle, an urgent measure needs to be implemented. The bidder is required to design a gabion to protect the tower foundation from erosion, as a permanent solution and perform a Technical Supervision during construction stage.

The proposals must contain:

• Proposed technical solution;
• Reference terms and BoQ for construction;
• Design cost;
• Supervision cost for the construction phase;

3. Format of proposal:

The proposal must be detailed and present the following:

• Breakdown cost for Design and Technical Supervision;
• Estimated Work plan;
• Any other applicable costs.

Bidders shall submit the following documents:

• Company profile;
• Track record and experience on similar work, including reference letters;
• Company registration documents and supporting documents;

5. Closing Date:

The proposals must be submitted no later than 03:00 PM o’clock of 18th October 2024.
