1. Presentation:

Companhia de Transmissão de Moçambique (MOTRACO) is a limited liability company incorporated in the Republic of Mozambique in 1998. The company is a joint venture between Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), NTCSA and Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC). The shares are held equally between the three shareholders. MOTRACO was created as a cooperation vehicle with the main objective of building, owning, operating and maintaining the Transmission System and supplying electricity to Mozal's aluminum smelter in Mozambique and transporting energy to EDM and EEC.

2. Description and Background:

As part of its social responsibility project, MOTRACO intends to finance the construction of one (1) new classroom, the construction of latrines for the pupils and the replacement of the damaged structure and zinc sheets in the existing classrooms of the 7 de Abril Comprehensive Primary School, located in the District of Namaacha, Impaputo Locality. The aim is to provide better teaching and learning conditions for pupils at the school, which is located close to MOTRACO's high-voltage power lines.

3. Scope of work:

The scope of the work consists of supplying the materials and construction for:

3.1 New Classroom:

  • Masonry construction with foundation, walls and zinc roof.
  • Installation of windows and doors according to national standards for classrooms.
  • Burnt cement floor.

3.2 Construction of toilets:

  • Construction of two (2) toilets for female students and two (2) toilets for male students, meeting hygiene standards and with ventilation and easy access.
  • They must have running water.

3.3 Replacement of the structure and zinc sheets:

  • Replacement of damaged zinc sheets on the existing roof of two classrooms.
  • Repair of the wooden structure of the zinc sheets to ensure safety and durability.

4. Place of visit:

A mandatory site visit for clarifications and measurements is scheduled for April 11 at 11:30 am.
