MOTRACO – Mozambique’s transmission company – a society owned by Mozambique’s national electricity operators (EDM), Eswatini (EEC and Eskom (South Africa) has mobilized and extended its solidarity with the victims of floods and floods that have plagued various areas of the country, particularly the provinces of Maputo and Gaza, resulting in considerable devastation and human damage and material.
The support of MOTRACO is part of the company's Social Responsibility Program, which prioritizes the development of infrastructure in the areas of education, health and intervention in various social causes.
An initial donation was granted to various accommodation centers in the municipality and district of Marracuene, consisting of 3.5 tons of diverse products –including water, food, capulans, hygiene products, blankets and capulans. On the other hand, in response to a request for support from the community of the Beluluane neighborhood A, located in the municipality of Matola Rio, the company made available means to ensure the removal/bombing of accumulated rainwaters, allowing the recovery of life and normal use of residences in the area.
The MOTRACO team had the opportunity to fraternise with children, women and men in two accommodation centers and at the time and expressed sensitivity to the suffering of affected families and encouraged them to stay together and resume their daily activities as soon as conditions allow.
Addressing the Mayor of Boane and the District Administrator and their respective teams, Adérito Sousa, Director General of MOTRACO, expressed his appreciation and praised the selfless effort and the good organization demonstrated in the process of help and attention to Mozambican compatriots. Those affected, as well as those in charge of the municipality and district of Marracuene, expressed their gratitude for the support and solidarity provided through hugs singing traditional songs.
